silvermine hike

This weekend afforded the Capetonians gorgeous weather! Finally Cape Town is learning – good weather on the weekends and (if it must) bad weather during the week.

Saturday was spent lazing at the pool, doing nothing more constructive than turning the pages of my book every so often and rolling over to get an even tan ;)  So on Sunday we decided to be slightly more productive and get our butts into gear and go on a hike at Silvermine. R5 entry and it’s even safe enough to leave your car window wide open for two hours while on the hike (well done to Bradley) ;)

But honestly Silvermine must be one of the best places to hike in Cape Town – the first part of the hike we ventured far into the valley to see the gorgeous waterfall.

And the second part – we backtracked a bit then went up and around the peak to see the view on the other side (the second part of the hike is why my legs feel as though they ran a marathon).

This was such a great day out, and it didn’t even take up the whole day, about two hours and we were home and ready to take on the rest of Sunday :)

  1. Youre so cool! I dont suppose I’ve read anything like this before. So nice to find somebody with some original thoughts on this subject. Really thank you for starting this up. This website is something that is needed on the web, someone with a little originality. Useful job for bringing something new to the internet!
